UV laminating

SM-2206

A vacuum UV laminating machine for protector assembly. The film is drawn down onto the screen under vacuum, then cured by 30 UV lamps at 395 nm — 24 W, 1.43 kg, on the same bench as the cutting machine.

How it works

Vacuum

The air goes out before the light comes on

Adhesion is decided in the first seconds. The chamber pulls to more than 65 kPa in 25 s, laying the film flat across the screen, and only then does the lamp bank start its 120 s cure. Venting takes 5 s, so the part comes out ready to handle.

Curing

Light spread across the whole screen

30 UV lamps cover the working area rather than concentrating at the centre, which is what keeps the cure even from the middle of the screen out to the edges — including curved edges that a flat press cannot follow.

Common questions

The five that come up before a first order.

What does the SM-2206 actually do?
UV vacuum laminating. It draws a UV-curing film down onto the screen under vacuum, then cures it with UV light — which is what lets the film follow a curved edge that a flat press cannot.
How much UV energy goes into a cycle?
2000 mJ over 120 s at 395 nm, from 30 LED lamps spread across the whole working area rather than concentrated at the centre.
Why spread the lamps out?
Even cure from the middle of the screen to the edges. A single source concentrates in the centre and leaves the edges under-cured, which shows up later as lifting.
How strong is the vacuum, and how long does it take?
Better than 65 kPa. Vacuum takes 25 s and venting 5 s, so the part comes out ready to handle instead of waiting on a slow release.
What is the warranty?
One year.
